Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 is an English actress. She also works as an actor, director, activist and actress. Her most well-known role is the role of Ginny Weasley which is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the character for ten years, until she was chosen to play the character as the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright was in a variety of independent films, including Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also earned a bachelor's degree in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. The following year, she founded her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began making short films. Her first film as a director was the coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) which starred David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016) starring Christian Coulson and Sextant (2016). Both films explored emotion and landscape as themes. Wright's trilogy Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) with Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based on A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright is well-known as an environmental activist; she also acts as an ambassador for the charities Greenpeace and Lumos.
