Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born on 5 September 1973 is an American actress. McGowan made her film debut in 1992 in Encino Man (1992), and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award nomination in 1995 for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995). Her breakout role came in the film horror Scream in 1996. Her next film was the films Jawbreaker (1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). During the 2000s, McGowan became known to TV viewers for her character as Paige Matthews in The WB supernatural drama series Charmed (2001-2006). McGowan also appeared in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007), for which she received nominations both for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. Her debut album, Planet 9, was released in 2018. The album was followed up by a revamp of Planet 9 in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year in 2017. She made a statement against sexual assault and harassment and , in particular, the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. Brave is her memoir. Citizen Rose was her documentary series. Both of these were released in 2018.
