Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef, and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor and a TV presenter. She's the host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her signature spiky blond hair and pumped-up personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals clear, easy to learn techniques to the home cook in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell had a job at the top New York restaurants and studied Italian food traditions and geography. In addition, she appeared in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the Upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for culinary arts and food at very young. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stop for her when she finished with A Bachelor of Arts in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She says "I thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Culinary Institute of America student. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every day." There was no way to be able to learn and do enough or put in the hours. After graduation, chef Burrell spent a year in Italy studying at Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners during her time at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one Michelin-starred restaurant located in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater understanding of Italian tradition and food during her stay in Italy which has had an impact on her cooking style. Burrell is a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing issues and also is a Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador, where she promotes the awareness of juvenile diabetes. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her profession. Anne has said during her time in the culinary field that she feels so fortunate being able to impart to others what's truly important for her.
