Katey Sagal
Katey Sagal, an actress/singer who is extremely talented and adept in drama and comedy, became a household name when she appeared on Peg Bundy (Fox series Married... with Children, 1987). During its lengthy run she received three Golden Globe and two American Comedy Award nominations. Peg Bundy might have been recognizable, but Katey was determined to keep her acting career even after the show ended. Katey starred in other sitcoms as well as TV films. On Sons of Anarchy (2008), she played the role of Gemma Teller Morrow. This was the Matriarch of the Hell's Angels-esque California biker gang. She was awarded the Golden Globe Award 2011 for her performance. Catherine Louise Sagal is the daughter of Sara Zwilling (director and singer) and Boris Sagal (film and television director). Sagal, a Los Angeles native began performing at the age of 5 and then trained in acting and voice at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California. As a waitress who sang in her "salad" years, she started singing with the group "The Group With No Name," then caught a break after hooking up with Gene Simmons and his 1970s rock band KISS. She was also an alternate singer for Simmons and other well-known celebrities like Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John and Tanya Tucker. When Bette performed her avant-garde stage shows in the latter half of the 1970s and early 80s she was a dynamic performer in live performances alongside Bette Midler.
