Rochon was the only child born to Zelma Staples. She was the only child born to Zelma. She is a businessman and is also Zelma's daughter's nurse practitioner. Cerritos High school, Cerritos California is where she finished her high school education in the year 1982. In 1986 she earned her degree in 1986 from California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) and obtained a bachelor's in broadcast journalism. She also earned minors in sociology and theatre. Heather has appeared on a number of television and film shows, including Nightingale as well as Epic Movie.

Ullerup was first seen first in Battlestar Galactica remake, the Sci Fi Channel's 2006 television show. The role she played was Julia Brynn. Ullerup played Ashley Magnus on the Sanctuary television series in its first and second seasons until it was canceled. Her departure remained the subject of debate between fans, with many of them wanting her brought back in future episodes, up until the show's cancellation in the year 2012. Ullerup was a part of the cast as Bree O'Brien on Chesapeake Shores in the year 2016. Ullerup was Maggie Thomas as the estranged ex-wife of Michael Thomas in Asteroid: Final Impact. From the year 2016 Ullerup has been playing a regular part as Dale Travers in Hallmark's Signed, Sealed, Delivered films series.
